| 描述: |
Phoebus was one of the first typefaces designed by the young Adrian Frutiger. The Parisian Deberny & Peignot type foundry brought the product to market in 1953. Like President - another early Frutiger design - Phoebus is an all-caps alphabet; its design is for special styles of titling, and no lowercase letters are included. The features employed by Frutiger in Phoebus are what really make this type shine. Phoebus is a faux-3D design. Its letters are slanted, but do not really have an italic construction. The proportions are quite traditional. The face of the letters is invisible, but the eye makes out the forms because of the shadows that drop down to the lower left. Phoebus makes use of sharp Latin-style triangular serifs, a feature that would appear four years later in Frutiger's Meridien, his first serif typeface. Linotype's digital Phoebus includes an array of diacritic characters; for the first time, this typeface may be used to set Central and Eastern European languages. The font also includes alternate, lowercase-style rounded versions of M and N. |
