Paul Renner (1878-1956) was a painter, typographer, typeface designer and teacher. Between 1908 and 1917 he designed thousands of books for Munich publishers in a refined traditional style. In the early 1920s he began to support the modern styles of architecture and typography, becoming a leading proponent of the New Typography.
Renner is best known for designing the typeface Futura, which became a standard tool for the New Typography, and remains a popular typeface today.
Futura does give a restful, almost bland impression, which accords with Renner's objectives. Futura seems classical, not only due to the form of its capitals, but also to the open, wide forms of the geometrical small letters. The typeface relies on notions of classical, yet contemporary form, - harmony and evenness of texture.
In 1997 the Visualogik Design Staff, headed by Marie-Thrse Koreman, entered into the project of creating a digital version of Futura, based upon new materials and contemporary design insights.
Undoubtedly, the resulting Futura ND is the most genuine and powerful Futura font on the market, hence digitized by the very originals from the Bauersche Giesserei and optimized for use on digital devices by Visualogik specialists.
Futura ND is available in a vast variety of confections and formats from PostScript Type1 format with a single character set up to proprietary featured OpenType Pro fonts with complete Unicode support for paneuropean and latin based writing systems.
In many corporate identies and brand marks Futura plays the key role. For those and other special purposes customized Futura ND font confections and licences are available through Neufville's Corporatype¨ Programme.
Implementation and licences for any application or device, ranging from printer firmware to digital broadcasting, mobile devices and web apps can be obtained through Neufville's Custom Licensing Programme.
Futura ND has many typographical enhancements and extras:
¥ the historical character designs of Paul Renner that were abandoned in the letterpress have been reintroduced.
¥ the original smallcaps and old style figures that Renner designed for some weights have been incorporated throughout the font program.
¥ Visualogik Design Staff developed completely new character sets for greek and cyrillic, true to the Renner ideas and the early considerations of the Bauersche Giesserei, with a special eye for contemporary digital demands.

SINGLE USER LICENCE AGREEMENT (EULA) v1.15 - April 2015
1. This product and the adhering documentation have been provided to you under the following license terms: the price you paid for this product is a one time license fee; this license doesn't transfer any rights of the product to you. e.g. you don't own this product. The rights to copy and to distribute this product are reserved to Neufville Digital exclusively. This product and its contents are subject to copyright according to the copyright laws of the European Community.
2. You may use the software contained in this product within a single organisation to reproduce typeface(s) for your own personal or in-business use, on a maximum of two printers or other output devices, that connect to a maximum of five CPU's (not servers) in total, all of them located at a single site or address. If installed on a server the number of users that may directly or indirectly (through a tool or interface) use the software is limited to five in total. When exceeding the numbers mentioned you need to apply for a multi-user, multiple-site or custom license agreement.
3. You are not allowed to (have someone) convert, alter or modify or reverse engineer (part of) this product or create derivative fonts out of it.
