Amster Versal Iluminada is a part of the Amster typeface family. It consists of two sets of initials all carefully drawn by Francisco Galvez for about 7 years. The inspiration for these cute initials comes from literature (as usually in PampaType). Based on a letter designed by Mauricio Amster for a 1973 book, Francisco Glvez created 2 complete alphabets of initials, recapturing the protagonists of some curious stories which appeared in the Lira Popular, popular printed sheets that massively circulated in Chile by the end of 19 c. Farmers and animals, citizens and drunks, criminals and victims, priests and devils, all dance together in this handsomely illuminated bestiary of letters, ideal for fiction and poetic atmospheres.
These beautiful illuminated caps can be used monochromatic or two-colored. Colorizing the 2 layers is very easy: just enter the wanted letter 2 times, colorize each letter, then activate the discretionary ligatures and voil! Alternatively you could call the letter from the glyphs palette, where you will see separated the monochrome version, the figure, and the letter.
We encourage you to take the most advantage of Amster Versal Iluminada.
