Trunk Animation has created lyric-led animated music video for the Rolling Stones' Doom and Gloom single, which is taken from the band's soon-to-be-released album Grrr, which is the first to be released in seven.
The Rolling Stones' record company Polydor wanted a simple lyric video to accompany the song, and to tie the video in with the album's cover. So Trunkcreated a load of loose paintbrush based type, using a mix of brush strokes and marks scanned in, real dripping paint footage, and all mixed together with loads of splatters, drips, and flecks that director Rok and illustrator Sara Savelj worked up.
Trunk says that the style of the video is designed to match the 'pounding' nature of the song, as if someone is furiously painting away with the song in the background. During a musical interlude even the iconic Rolling stones tongue-and-lips logo makes an appearance, illustrated by Savelj.
The video was created using hand painted textures and scans intermixed with live action elements and composited together using After Effects.
