From March 23 to June 6, 2011, the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin will be showing Erik Spiekermann: The Face of Type.
This exhibition will provide insights into the diverse work of the internationally successful and renowned Berlin typeface creator and communication designer and his international network.
The exhibition at the Bauhaus Archive demonstrates Spiekermann's significance for corporate design and his importance for German as well as international graphics design.
Typefaces, designed by this founder of MetaDesign and FontShop from 1979 up to now, are being featured on more than 30 banners.
Spiekermann's corporate design projects developed for the Economist, the Deutsche Bahn, Dusseldorf Airport and the Travel Information System for the Berlin Transport Authorities (BVG) will also be on display together with his publications.
Spiekermann not only designs complex systems of communication, he lives them: You will be able to visualize and recognize his worldwide network of design offices and graphics designers by using an interactive touch screen table.
