London graphic design library St Brides has announced the programme for its annual conference, which this year takes the theme Revival. The two-day event (April 23-24) covers randing, book design, typography, crafts and comics.

In the book design strand, Alan Powers, Eleanor Crow, John Morgan, and David Pearson mull over various aspects of revival, ranging from repackaging classic novels for modern audiences to reviving old cover-design styles for contemporary works.

In type, Paul Stiff, Henrik Kubel, James Mosley, Claudio Rocha, and Will Hill discuss everything from classic typefaces that have recently been revived to a presentation on the work of leading Brazilian foundry Oficina Tipográfica São Paulo.

Publisher David Fickling and comic book artist Sarah McIntyre present on the process of launching a new comic for children, Vern and Lettuce, while Jonny Hannah looks at the role of the handmade in modern society.

Meanwhile, Kath Tudball and Julia Woollams from Johnson Banks talk about long-established but flagging brands and jow Johnson Banks has gone about updating these.
